Drinking Water Protection Zone Road Signs
Have you spotted one of our Drinking Water Protection Zone signs? These provincially standard road signs mark locations where roads cross into vulnerable areas where municipal drinking water sources are the most vulnerable to contamination. These signs are to alert citizens that their actions in these areas can have an impact on municipal drinking water sources. They also alert first responders to quickly inform appropriate authorities so action can be taken to keep contaminants out of the public water treatment and distribution system.
Drinking Water Protection Zone signs have been installed around the well head protection areas located in the Town of Minto and the Township of Wellington North. These signs are mandated to be installed within the Saugeen, Grey Sauble, Northern Bruce Peninsula Source Protection Region.
