Saugeen Valley

The Saugeen Valley Source Protection Plan details how activities under the Clean Water Act are regulated and applies to all the Wellington County municipalities located within the Saugeen Valley watershed. The Saugeen Valley Source Protection Plan came into effect on July 1st, 2016. For Source Protection Plan policies to apply, the property must be located within a municipal well head protection area. For a significant drinking water threat policy to apply, certain groundwater vulnerability scores must be present (often a score of 10).

Within Wellington County, the Saugeen Valley Source Protection Plan applies to parts of the Town of Minto including Clifford and Minto Pines subdivision and parts of the Township of Wellington North including Mount Forest.
